The Canadian Revenue Service has requested information about Coinsquare users

Tax Canada requested full information about Coinsquare users who have registered on the platform since the beginning of 2013.

As reported by the local National Post, the Canada Revenue Service has requested information and certain documents about Coinsquare trading platform customers who have registered since early 2013. The request for information has been referred to the court. Currently, the Toronto-registered Coinsquare is evaluating possible options;

“Coinsquare provides a reliable process for checking clients. Our clients comply with all Canadian laws governing cryptographic trading,” said Stacy Hoisak, CEO of the Exchange;

Note that a similar request did U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in respect of the Coinbase. The court ordered the Cryptovite Exchange to provide the IRS with the data on the market customers who traded in cryptov currencies in the period from 2013 to 2015. Recently, the IRS provided updated recommendations for reporting on crypt currency transactions
